Yup. Even with my poor-quality grinder it's still a damned good cup of coffee.

Not quite US$9, but one of these is simplicity in pure form, and gets you really nice coffee.
We still have the thing, even though our kitchen is fitted with induction heaters so I can't use it.

You can use it, you just need to think outside the box. Use a piece of aluminum the thickness of a pan and put it between the cooktop and the coffeemaker. The stove heats up the aluminum just like a pan, and it acts like a regular burner. Just going on theory here, this might not work, try it with a small pan first.

Then, if you REALLY love espresso, you could buy this . What the heck, it's only $15.99!

Erhmmmm. Induction heating only works on metals that attract magnets. So aluminium is out. The percolator is made from cast aluminium. It would work if I had a disc of, say, steel.
But I'm fortunate enough to have a built-in coffee machine that needs whole beans and water. It doesn't cost US$ 9, but it makes damn good coffee.

I'm covered. As mentioned in another reply, our kitchen is fitted with a coffee maker that is fed with whole beans. 15 bar is decent enough for making espresso.

I have one of these, they work really well.
They make almost espresso, and also make a damn fine Americano.
They can't produce the pressure to force the water through the grind at high enough pressure for it to be real espresso, but it's still makes excellent coffee.

OK, but the coffe made by a Bialetti Moka Express is supposed to the best home made espresso ever. Supposed you make it correctly, that is. This video is almost perfect, but I'd have added another spoonful of coffee grounds, just to make a little dome.
